Sometimes we think that Jesus only cares about what we need and that we shouldn't bother Him about "petty" wants.
I'm here to testify that Jesus cares about EVERYTHING!
The last time I purchased makeup was December of 2023. That is 8 months ago. As the months have progressed, the makeup has dwindled. However, I didn't realize how much time had passed. Interestingly enough, every time I went to the empty makeup bottle, something still came out. Jesus is funny.
Three weeks ago, I decided I would buy makeup before my brother's wedding. As I was about to go buy it, I felt in my heart to wait. I know now this was the Lord. However that day I told my husband that I felt I needed to wait to get the makeup.
Let's pause on the makeup story for a bit.
On my birthday this year, I did a LIVE on YouTube and wanted to do giveaways. My heart's desire was to give away $50 worth of prizes. But with what money? I kept this silent desire in my heart and concluded to do $20 worth if that's what the Lord wanted.
The day of my birthday, many people gifted me with money. I was so thankful because I could now use $50 of that to do Giveaways. Jesus had blessed with the money, on the exact day of the LIVE. He was now the Giver of my want.
The very next day, as I was getting ready to do my makeup, I laughed and said to the Lord "Every time I come to this empty bottle of makeup, you seem to keep making something come out. You really know how to stretch Nothing into something. I wonder when I will be able to get new makeup".
Later that day, a girlfriend of mine gave me a gift card for my birthday. I opened the card only to find $50 for Sephora (a makeup store).
WOW WOW WOW!
I was in tears!
Jesus had given me back the $50 that I had given away in the Giveaway the day before, but not just that. Jesus gave it back to me on a makeup gift card. It was almost as if He was saying " Here's your $50 back. Now only use it for the makeup that you've been wanting and have been waiting 8 months for"
Listen! This may seem small to you as a reader but this is HUGE for me. If Jesus cares for something as small as a makeup desire, how much more does He care for you , your soul and your greatest needs!?
Sometimes what we want may take a long time to receive, but the beauty of the waiting is that God will continue to provide even when the bottle is completely empty.
Many of us are scared to give Jesus our wants because we are scared that either He won't fulfill them, or He doesn't care. Many of us don't give them to God because we don't trust how long He will make us wait. Mant of us don't give them to Him because we don't truly believe that He knows how to take care of us when we're on empty. But how will we ever truly know if Jesus cares if we don't at first give Him a chance to prove it?
Jesus wants to give us our wants and our needs so that the Father may be glorified. He may not always meet our wants, but He will always meet our needs. And every time He does it is so that His Father may be glorified! (John 14:13,14)
Jesus doesn't want us to go get what we want and need on our own, because it robs the Father of His glory. Jesus needs to be the Giver of all things, so that God gets the glory.
It's not that He doesn't want us to have anything, It's just that He wants to be the GIVER
Do you have a want today? Give that want to Jesus. Trust Him with it!
He's the best Giver of our wants! Every time He gives , it's supernatural.
Come to Jesus and He will give Rest!
