Have You Asked Jesus?

Published on 25 April 2024 at 15:13

This reality hit me today! If we've accepted Jesus, then everywhere we go and in everything that we do, we bring Jesus with us, by His Spirit that lives in us...whether He wants to be there or not.

Ask yourself:

- Does Jesus want to be in that relationship that you're in? This could be a friendship, dating, or work relationship.

- Does Jesus want to go to that event that you're going to?

- Does Jesus want to watch what you're watching?

In everything that we choose to do, we should stop to ask Jesus if He wants to be a part of it.

Might as well, since we can't escape bringing Him with us.

If we don't ask Jesus what He wants, we must keep in mind that we're bringing Him into places and situations that He may not want to be in.

If we bring Jesus into situations that He does not want to be in, there will be no rest.

If we do things that Jesus does not want to do, or that Jesus never asked of us to do, there will be no rest.

Did you know that you could be doing good things and still not be doing what Jesus wants you to be doing?

Proverbs 25:16 and 27 says it best.

It reminds us to eat honey, but only enough that is sufficient. Do not overdo it. Too much honey will cause you to vomit.

It even says that eating too much honey is equal to us trying to find glory for ourselves.

When we're doing so many good things but not asking Jesus if we should be doing them in the first place, we will find ourselves sick.

Eventually it will lead us to a place of trying to get glory for ourselves.

The best way to tell if we've actually included Jesus in what we're doing, is found in the way we are at rest.

There will be no striving. There will be rest!

Have you asked Jesus?
